Barbara Sloboda studied piano, voice and choral directing at CFNI College in Dallas Texas. She later studied voice for 3 years at The Boston Conservatory and took a course on song writing for a summer at Berkeley College of Music.
Barbara has taken classes in theatre and has performed in community and professional theatre for the past 30 years. She has been seen in many productions with The Seacoast Repertory Theater, The Palace Theatre, The Leddy Center, ActorSingers, Mad Co, and Majestic Theatre. She has also performed in Sight and Sound in PA, Youth with a Mission in Epe Holland, and a traveling Contemporary Christian Theatre company out of Illinois. In 1989 she started her own theatre company, Jubilation, which received national recognition and landed her an article in Theatre Times. She performs as a solo artist around the New England area sing pop, rock and folk rock, and is currently working on a duo project with Randy Singleton.
Barbara has also been music director for several area churches, teaching Contemporary Christian worship as well as traditional music. She has taught Theatre and Music at Bedford Christian School, Merrimack Christian School and Jesse Remington High School. 2013 will be her 23rd year of teaching private voice and piano and she is always looking forward to working with many diversified students. Barbara accepts beginners and professionals of all ages.
